How to stop a game forcing 32-bit Ubisoft Connect
Ubisoft Connect still launches helper pieces that look 32-bit in Task Manager. Forcing compatibility mode usually makes it worse. Update, repair, and let the launcher pick.

Turn compatibility mode off
Right-click the game and Ubisoft Connect, open Properties, and clear “run this program in compatibility mode” and “run as administrator” unless Ubisoft’s own support page for that title says otherwise. Those checkboxes are why a modern launcher gets stuck acting old.
Repair, then update Windows
In Ubisoft Connect, use the game’s repair/verify files, and update the launcher itself. Install pending Windows updates and the current graphics driver from the GPU maker, not a third-party updater.
Read the 32-bit line correctly
Task Manager may label a small helper “(32 bit)” while the game itself is 64-bit. That helper is not always a problem. The problem is a crash, a black screen, or a title that will not launch — chase the symptom, not the label.
Avoid registry folklore
Random .reg files from a forum can pin an old launcher path. If a reinstall is next, uninstall from Windows, reboot, and install fresh from Ubisoft rather than merging a stranger’s fix.
Watch for this
- Do not disable antivirus as a permanent “fix.” Add the game folder as an exclusion only if the vendor documents it.
When to get help
Ubisoft’s support article for the specific game is the source of truth. If files verify and it still crashes, their ticket team can read the launcher log.
