How to stop Dupixent
Dupixent is a prescribed biologic. Stopping it is a prescriber’s decision, not a weekend experiment. This page is the conversation to have, not a taper you invent.

Do not skip doses to “see what happens”
Eczema, asthma, and nasal polyps can rebound when the medicine leaves. People sometimes feel fine for weeks and then flare harder than before. That is why the stop belongs on a clinic plan.
Call the prescriber with the actual reason
Eye irritation, joint pain, cost, pregnancy planning, or a flare that never improved are different problems. The clinic can report a side effect, change the interval, or switch therapy. A blog cannot.
Keep the last doses on schedule until you are told otherwise
If a nurse line says to hold a dose because of an infection or a live vaccine question, follow that instruction and write down who said it. Otherwise stay on the calendar you were given.
Line up the replacement before the gap
Ask what you will use for itch, inhalers, or nasal care if Dupixent stops. Leaving a gap with no backup is how people end up in urgent care.
Watch for this
- Breathing trouble, facial swelling, or a rapidly spreading rash is emergency care, not a hold-and-wait.
- Never share pens or adjust the dose from a screenshot.
When to get help
Contact the prescribing clinic before you miss a dose. If you cannot reach them and you are wheezing or swelling, use urgent or emergency care.
