How long lip filler lasts
Hyaluronic acid lip filler is temporary. Many people see it fade over roughly six to twelve months. Dissolving it is a medical procedure, not a home scrub.

Read the product, not the influencer
Different gels are built to last different lengths, and lips move more than cheeks, so they often fade sooner. Your injector should name the product and a realistic window before you pay.
Expect swelling to lie to you
The first three days are not the result. Bruising and water make lips look larger than the filler that will remain. Judge shape after two weeks.
Protect the investment without gimmicks
Skip saunas and hard exercise the day of treatment if your injector said so. Daily SPF does more for lips long-term than any “filler facial.” Smoking and constant straw use are not helpful, but they are not a timer you can hack.
If you hate it, go back to a licensed clinician
Hyaluronidase can dissolve hyaluronic acid filler. It is a prescription enzyme with allergy risk. Do not buy it online, and do not try to massage a lump flat for weeks.
Watch for this
- White, blotchy, or severely painful skin after filler can be a vessel blockage — that is same-hour emergency care.
- Permanent fillers and silicone are a different, riskier category. Avoid them.
When to get help
Only a licensed injector should place or dissolve filler. Sudden pain, blanching, or vision change after treatment is an emergency.
